6. Attack On Titan

Easily one of the best anime shows and original manga comics of the last decade, AoT exploded across the tail-end of 2013, to the degree where if you know your Studio Ghiblis from your Akira Toriyamas, you're probably already besotted by it.

Telling the story of how humans are forever dogged by gargantuan towering Titans (which just love to eat them for fun), the story has since spiralled out from being a parallel for societal oppression, into a grand tale of deception, human experimentation and introspection on what it means to be a hero.

It's weighty stuff and mostly convoluted for the sake of endless plot twists, but the success of the show across the globe is seeing its first console game, following the cack 3DS release, Humanity in Chains.

Combat in this more definitively-named game looks to be a tad repetitive, but here's hoping it expands accordingly as there's a ton of Titan neck-slashing left to be done.
