Now, it's fair to say that critical expectations for the WWE 2K franchise are always middling at best, but considering that the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of WWE 2K18 scored 66-67 - a score consistent enough with the last few entries - few could've expected the Nintendo Switch port to score barely half that.

While 2K's stealth release of 2K18 on the Switch definitely raised a few eyebrows, it was nevertheless reasonable to expect the game to score around 50. However, the few critics who even bothered to review the game (which wasn't even given to most outlets for review) savaged the title for its myriad technical issues, calling it "painful to play" and "a terrible port".

The company responsible for the port, Blind Squirrel, has insisted that they will patch WWE 2K18 into shape in the future, but it's hard to imagine any reviewers going back to give it a second chance. It's toast.
