14 Nightmarish Resident Evil Monsters

Besides zombies, Hunters are the most frequently re-occurring Resident Evil creatures. They are usually reserved for late-game areas and represent a significant step up in difficulty; Hunters are quick, agile, and hyper-aggressive.

Their physical appearance changes subtly between games but they are a hybrid between human and reptile or amphibian DNA.

Hunters' chief weapons are their enormous claws which will quickly whittle away the player's life. These monsters can even execute instant kills if the player is already injured.

The RE3make recently reimagined the Hunter, bringing them back as a tougher armoured version without sacrificing any of their mobility.

The Hunter Gamma variant (which in the original RE3 was a simple palette swap, coloured purple instead of green) were entirely reworked for the RE3make; now completely different in appearance, resembling car-sized tadpoles that lumber towards players on two stubby legs that barely sustain their weight and capable of devouring the player whole.
