This might not seem all that tense, but that's no random zombie - it's the Regenerator, one of the most terrifying enemies ever encountered in any Resident Evil game. It doesn't matter what weapon do you attack it with; it isn't going to die, unless you go through the ridiculously complex (and near impossible) task of using a sniper rifle with a specialized scope to hit the regenerating parasites burrowing in its body. The reason this image qualifies is that an armoury of nine shotgun pellets just isn't going to cut it, and this poor player is probably in for a world of horror when the presumably limbless, but no less persistent creature drags itself across the floor in the most grotesque way ever captured in a game.
5. Aliens Vs. Predator - The Xeno Leap
Sure, the game was pretty much terrible, but that doesn't mean certain scenes don't look positively terrifying (which is part of the reason why everyone was so disappointed.) Imagine an AvP game where every Xenomorph is as intelligent and capable as they always deserved to be. In such a game, this perfectly timed attack scene wouldn't be a 60/40 in favour of the marines - it would be a certain death, which is precisely what's about to happen to that poor marine there.
