14 Ubisoft Video Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
9. The Division
The Division gets a lot of flak, considering it had one of the most impressive opening weekends of any Ubisoft game in history. Since then it's suffered a 93% drop-off (!!) which is a huge shame, because there's a lot to love about an open-world, loot grind-intensive third-person shooter set in near post-apocalyptic New York City.
To that end, gunplay is tactile and responsive, headshots feel insanely satisfying, and rather uniquely, you can buddy up with your pals to enter the forever-hostile Dark Zone, tackling increasingly challenging enemies and not knowing who to trust as you attempt to make it out with as much gear as possible.
Underpinning everything, Ubi establish a sense of progression that means solo players get just as much out of the game as those doing so in teams, leaning heavily on a 'drop in, drop out' sensibility to create a dynamic feeling of accessibility. Not many MMOs can say they cater to single players, and all round, The Division is a very impressive package; albeit one that could've done with a more consistent rollout of main story missions and customisation options for its DLC.
