We're not just playing around when we say the secret ending of the original Metroid game is probably the most well known Easter Egg of all time. Nearly twenty five years later and people are still discussing it like it was the most important revelation in gaming history. We're of course talking about the big reveal that the main character of the game, Samus Aran, was a woman. Did you know the game actually has five different endings, though? The worst ending comes if you play for longer than ten hours. The bad ending happens if you take longer than five. If you can beat the game in under five hours, Samus will take off her helmet revealing that she could be a guy who has a lot of hair. Only after you manage to beat the game in under three hours do you learn the truth that Samus is a woman. A lot of kids back then likely wouldn't have been able to manage that in their first playthrough, but there is yet another ending. If you can beat the original Metroid in under an hour, Samus will take off her suit and pose in a pair of space underwear for the gamer.
