14 Worst Video Game Boss Battles Of The Decade (So Far)

5. Kai Leng - Mass Effect 3

This guy's just bad from every angle. His visual design came across as completely rote and bland, despite shooting for some sort of 'samurai in space'-type deal (the likes of which were already being perfected character-wise by both Thane and Kasumi), and when it came to battling him in what should've been an amazing showdown of brute force from two skilled warriors, it turned into running away, awkwardly spinning around to shoot and repeating until he went down. Leng's attacks were just devastating, but his movement was erratic too, and even if you did gain the upper hand, you didn't actually kill him until a really weird cutscene that forces Shepard to have a 'badass' moment - regardless of if your own Shepard wouldn't have said anything at all. There are a litany of problems with Mass Effect 3 even outside the ending, and Kai Leng's outright misplaced inclusion as a main villain is one of the worst.
