9. Battlefield 1- DICE
DICE continues their journey into large-scale warfare by transitioning into the era of World War 1. It's notable the influence Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefield 4 have had on BF1; improving the game using their tech or in fixing what went wrong.
Much like Titanfall - except Battlefield's campaign problem has been going on for much longer - everyone was pleasantly surprised with an actual well-done, engrossing and memorable single-player experience.
The story mode took the form of multiple war stories from different people's perspectives, each providing a different personal experience of the hell hole that was World War 1. It was respectful, and carefully crafted.
Onto multiplayer, and you know what to expect: unbridled mass chaos.
Tanks taking down buildings, engineers taking down tanks and Blimps taking down... everything, it's nice to jump from the emotional story mode to the uncaring and tumultuous world of Battlefield multiplayer. Just try to stay alive.
