11. Splinter Cell: Blacklist - Ubisoft

gears of war 3
Ubisoft

A great, action-packed stealth game where more people seemed to care about the fact that Michael Ironside wasn't Sam Fisher's voice anymore, rather than the game itself. I understand it, it should have just been someone else rather than Fisher, but that doesn't take away the fact that this was a well-done modern Splinter Cell game.

Taking the new engine and mechanics for the action from Conviction and mixing it with the stealth elements from the classic Splinter Cells, it also incorporated a wide range of customisation options like choosing the type of armour and goggles to equip, customising your camouflage and the goggle's light colour, upgrading your guns and your flying HQ, the Paladin.

It did play like Conviction, which was a satisfying shooter in its own right, but on a much larger scale, with more stealth options and the ability to choose between lethal and non-lethal that contributed to a points-based play style: Panther, Ghost and Assault.

Blacklist also brought back the fan-favourite Spies Vs Mercs multiplayer mode, which is the icing on the cake.
