15 Best Video Game Platformers Ever
11. Ratchet & Clank 3: A Crack In Time
All of the Ratchet & Clank games, the sixth title offered the best bonkers combination. It seemed like the 2016 PlayStation remaster of the first game would snatch that crown away, adding gadgets from later entires, but by trimming away bits of the story and limiting exploration, it just fell short.
That leaves A Crack In Time standing as Ratchet & Clanks best game, just missing out on the platforming top ten. Third in the Future saga and sixth overall, A Crack In Time was welcoming to newcomers while still being rewarding for those who’d been there from the beginning.
Like all Ratchet games, it’s easy to get to grips with, opening up more as you get better and stranger weapons. The Rift Inducer 5000 is possibly the best the series has ever had; it opens up a wormhole for a hungry tentacle monster named Fred to pop through and eat your enemies.
Ratchet & Clank is never a game which asks too much of you, but you really should be aware of that going in. It’s just a fun, colourful, hilarious romp through the galaxy with enjoyable combat sections and puzzles you can easily outthink.
