15 Biggest Video Game Lies You've Been Told This Decade

14. The Xbox One's Kinect Worked As Advertised

Microsoft have done their darndest to wash all memories of the horrendous Kinect away, yet it stands to reason that the only motivation behind Sony's meteoric lead in PS4s shipped over Xbox Ones, comes from the latter reveal being so laughably bad.

Case in point: Yusef Mehdi literally getting on stage and pretending to expand/contrast various application windows and viewing screens, just to show off the 'power of the Kinect'. Of course, all it takes is to watch the footage back and realise it doesn't line up with his actions, to come away thinking something was up.

Cut to launch day and hundreds of Xbox Ones couldn't recognise voices or hand gestures to save their lives. Thus, after a year of Microsoft insisting that the Kinect was an "integral part" of the 'Xbox One experience', they gutted the thing from their bundle deals, reorganised the dashboard, commissioned the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, and never looked back.

Ironically, of all people, it's now Microsoft who don't recognise the Kinect.
