15 Biggest Video Game Lies You've Been Told This Decade

15. Mark Hamill Will Not Be Returning As Joker In Batman: Arkham Knight

Remember that incredibly momentous final scene in Arkham City, where - for one of only a handful of times in the character's history - Batman actually didn't save the day? Instead, thanks to Joker stabbing him - Bats dropped the phial for Joker's cure, leaving him to literally laugh himself to death.

El Fin.

In the run-up to Arkham Knight we were told repeatedly, over and over (and over) that Mark Hamill was not returning as the Clown Prince, and that the titular Knight himself was also "not an established character" from the Arkham series.

Except, he was. It was Jason Todd. Big ol' lie.

And Joker? Turns out Hamill had been fibbing for years too, as not only was Joker in the game, but thanks to Bruce Wayne's fractured psyche, he literally saw him everywhere, meaning we got more Joker than the last two games combined.

Both revelations were clearly meant to be surprises for the fans, but when you've led them on the wildest of "Guess who?" goose chases for months prior, revealing you've taken the easiest way out was one HELL of a letdown.
