Although we've already mentioned that 2015 was really the year that Microsoft was able to make a proper comeback at E3, it was the announcement of the Xbox One's backwards compatibility that really cemented the fact that the gaming giant was taking big steps to win back players they might have lost during the console's disastrous first year. Beating Sony at their own game, Microsoft was able to undercut their rival's PS Now service by offering an update that would allow certain Xbox 360 games to be played on the new console for no additional cost. Focusing on fan-favourites and the most requested 360 titles, Microsoft finally gave their fans the only reason they needed to get rid of an old console that was probably only gathering dust anyway.
