15 Biggest WTF Gaming Moments Of 2017 (So Far)

10. The Mass Effect: Andromeda Launch Debacle

Mass Effect: Andromeda was one of Q1's most-anticipated releases, but the fact that the marketing seemed a little subdued for it perhaps wasn't by accident, as the game's release was one of the big PR gaffes of recent gaming history.

Early reviews and EA Access players revealed that Andromeda suffered from appallingly janky facial animations which made a great deal of the game's dialogue unintentionally hilarious. That's just the start, though: the quality of the writing, abundance of bugs and repetitive main quest line were also widely criticised, so what the Hell happened?

Well, Kotaku recently posted a fascinating investigation into the game's development, which revealed major issues from the get-go, resulting in the majority of the final game being built in just 18 months.

And the worst thing about all of this? The game's poor reception has caused the franchise to be put "on ice" for the foreseeable future, likely ahead of a reboot in a few years.
