It was inevitably going to happen, considering how stubborn Platinum Games have been in regards to spilling new info on Nier: Automata, but it was still disappointing to hear the word delay coupled with the number 2017 enter my ear canal at this year's E3.

The original game, for whatever reason, was tragically ignored by a large majority of critics around the time of its release, and those that did bother to give it a look overlooked its unique narrative structure. I mean, what other game has the audacity to delete your save data if you choose a specific ending?

Assuming Automata retains the incredibly varied and enjoyable combat of its predecessor and builds upon the idea of changing the world with every subsequent playthrough, it could well be a big winner for the PS4 when it releases next year.
