15 Fan Demands For The Fable Reboot
14. Automatic Levelling
In the first two Fable games, characters levelled up by collecting experience orbs that they'd gain after combat. Those orbs would contain either melee, ranged, or magic experience which could be spent on abilities in those trees, alongside a large amount of general experience that could be spent on anything. So a guy could wade into enough enemies with a gigantic greatsword and then learn how to cast better spells.
Fable III introduced two new systems. Hidden behind the absolutely terrible Road To Rule, so well in fact that a majority of players don't even realise it's there, is a pretty neat auto-levelling system where the Hero would get better at magic by casting spells, better at melee attacks by hitting things, and better at shooting things by, well, shooting things. No more sucking down - ahem - balls or general experience making your development not match your activities.
This should be reintroduced in the new game, with a few more stats affected by different activities. Someone using a small weapon should get stronger in different ways to someone using a greatsword, after all.
