3. Virtue's Last Reward
A Visual Novel style game with escape-the-room type puzzles and both genres mix seamlessly to create this masterpiece of storytelling. There's a game that takes place before this called '999' on the DS and it's recommended you play that first to fully understand some plot points. Both have wonderfully crafted stories and engaging characters. The puzzles are devious but never stray into 'unfair' or 'how was I supposed to know that!' territory. Because of this, it's a perfect game to start with if you want to try out the Visual Novel genre. You begin as Sigma and you're under the mercy of a mysterious entity named Zero 3. It's your job to solve the mysteries that surround you, the other characters, and who Zero 3 is. Good luck. You'll need it because the game boasts twenty-four
endings. Your decisions matter.
