Pure 2D platforming goodness. This is one of the few examples of a port done right because asides from a few graphics needing to be scaled down a little, the 3DS version has everything the Wii version had, plus a few more levels. The 3D slider is also utilised to make the foreground and background more distinct and the effect is subtle enough to keep it on and not have it affect gameplay. The best thing about this game is that it actually lived up to the original trio on the Super Nintendo. It retains the difficulty, the charm, and the excellent level design while simultaneously being a sequel by adding new mechanics (such as the silhouette levels) and abilities. For example, Donkey Kong is now able to blow objects to obtain collectibles, though this slows the pace of the game down a little. The only thing outright disappointing here is that you can rarely play as Diddy Kong in single player.
