A surprisingly excellent title released early in the 3DS's career. 3D Land is one of the few games to make the most out of the 3D slider, with some puzzle rooms needing it to align yourself properly to get the star coin. The game's design also compliments the use of 3D flawlessly, as it is not obstructive but gives an excellent sense of scale and depth in the larger levels. There are a few new additions gameplay wise such as the Boomerang Flower, which lets Mario hurl boomerangs, and the Statue Leaf which is only available in special worlds. The game's fairly easy and you should be able to complete the game once pretty comfortably. However, the special worlds are where things get brutal. Not only are they harder versions of the levels you've played so far, but sometimes a cosmic clone will chase you throughout the level, making things more fun and incredibly challenging. This game also features one of the best final confrontations with Bowser there has ever been in a Mario game. The build up and execution is near perfect and should be experienced by all 3DS owners.
