Plastic axe-wielders unite! Chances are if just under a decade ago you were the type to dedicate hundreds of hours making sure you could reach that slightly-awkward orange button just so you could master Expert Mode, you've since taken up the real instrument and realised what a gigantic fool we all were, singing and rocking out with our childlike plastic instruments. GH III was the first of the series developed by Tony Hawks' guys Neversoft, as Harmonix disappeared off to make Rock Band, -actually trying to get across the love for playing the real thing rather than just throwing as many icons at you as possible and challenging you to keep up. Keep up we did though, for the most part anyway, as any who didn't scoff at the idea of plonking giant plastic buttons found a simply beautiful pleasure in playing along to their favourite songs, feeling pleased as punch when they managed to alternate a string of three-button 'chords' or fired through a number of blue and orange-buttoned solos. You've most likely heard of people grabbing tennis rackets to sing along to their favourite Guns n' Roses track back when rock n' roll was dominating the mainstream in the 80's, but for the late noughties bedroom-rocker, Guitar Hero was always where it was at.
