From the very first game of the series, Halo has always been about gargantuan battles in huge, open arenas. The scale of the games has always been impressive but Halo 3 went above and beyond. Rightfully so - it was originally intended to be the final game in the series, after all. One of the last missions of the game, The Covenant, is a long trek through the Ark as the UNSC bid to put an end to the Prophet of Truth's mission to fire the Halo rings. It's a vehicle heavy mission which features a bunch of epic moments; those are nothing compared to the climatic finale to the mission though. Here, the Covenant drop two hulking Scarab tanks in a desperate final stand to defend the Prophet of Truth. While Chief has defeated Scarabs before, taking on two at once is a seemingly impossible task. So when the second one drops into sight, you might panic a bit. Suddenly, Marty O'Donnell's superb soundtrack kicks into gear and you quickly come to terms with the fact that nothing is impossible in the Halo universe. This is a critical moment in the game and it doesn't let you forget about it in a hurry - revisiting scenes like this is why the Master Chief Collection is such a big deal.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
