Oh look, it's another beloved Capcom crossover franchise. If a crown was crafted to sit atop the head of a king of crossovers, the Japanese developer would undoubtedly be at the front of the line to claim the throne. X-Men Vs. Street Fighter was the first such game to feature tag team battles, and enabled players to pair up any X-Men or Street Fighter character to take down the super mutant (no, not the Fallout type) Apocalypse at the end of the game's arcade mode. The roster wasn't particularly huge - both sides had nine characters each to choose from - but the minimalistic approach to each of the title's facets are what added to its long-lasting appeal. Capcom sometimes struggles to make all of its fighters feel unique, but X-Men Vs. Street Fighter never really suffered from having 'clone' characters - they all felt unique. Above all else though, we have this very game to thank for the existence of the next entry...
