15 Horrifying Video Game Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
10. Hitman: Contracts Haunted Hotel
The Hitman series is more famous for its stealth action and contrived assassination methods than it is for being particularly creepy, but that didnt stop the developers of Hitman: Contracts from sneaking in a ghost, just to scare the pants off us anyway. The mission Traditions of the Trade in the third instalment of the series has Agent 47 sneaking his way through the Thermal Bath Hotel in Budapest, in order to murder a terrorist and steal a bomb. Whilst there, you can stumble across a door which is initially closed, but can be lockpicked open while nobody is watching. Clearly, curiosity takes priority over the actual mission. Inside, you can catch a glimpse of *something* - which appears to be going straight through the wall. Instead of immediately turning around and pretending nothing happened, like a normal person would, you can follow the corridor round and find a policeman, who will tell you about an accident in one of the rooms. The room in question is spattered with blood, has a dead body on the floor and a knife sticking out of the wall and thats not even the creepiest bit. The bathroom has blood on the walls and filling up the bath and should you look in the mirror, Caspar the not-so-friendly Ghost flickers into existence before your eyes. And because this is Hitman, the game lets you kill him. Twice.
