15 'Horror' Video Games That Totally Failed To Scare Anyone

6. Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Blackwater

Considering how genuinely frightening the first two games in the Final Frame series were, and considering the fact that many of the original team members contributed to the development of Maiden of Black Water, there€™s really no exercise for why the latest offering in the series falls so tremendously on its face. The biggest problem with the game is that it requires you to constantly revisit the same small selection of areas, and encounter the same handful of ghosts, again and again. The atmosphere can occasionally verge on the unsettling, and there€™s a few jump scares here and there, but even they gradually start to feel incredibly predictable as the game progresses. By the end, you€™ll swear you€™ve already completed the same scenario a dozen times, collected the same items and fought the same ghosts in the same setting for the same reason, over and over.
