15. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Was Originally In First Person

Tying into Nintendo's legendary pioneer of 'Z-Targeting' (where you move towards and away from a target whilst locked on), that idea only came about through initial discussions on how Link's adventures would take place in first-person. Apparently Shigeru Miyamoto first thought it would be best to explore and experience the world through Link's eyes, with the camera only zooming and panning out when a battle occurred. Instead, this was rolled back as Shigeru decided the player should be able to form a connection with Link by seeing him constantly, as well as aiding in exploration considerably and noting that as you play Link visually ages as the game goes on.
