15 Most Badass Monologues In Video Game History

6. "We Have No Beginning. We Have No End. We Are Infinite" (Mass Effect)

What is it about cold, ruthless A.I.s in futuristic games that makes them so incomparably badass? Just as with SHODAN, Sovereign speaks with a terrifying authority that talks on a completely different plane of understanding to humanity. Sure, this isn't technically a monologue, but Shepard's feeble human interjections seem almost pathetic in the face of the omniscient super-being.

Menacing though Sovereign may be, we also can't help but respect and admire it. It speaks with such knowledge that you just want to agree with it; dedicate the rest of your life to helping its carry out its inhuman vision, even if ultimately your impact will be negligible, and despite it inevitably leading to your own destruction.
