15 Most Badass Monologues In Video Game History

9. "I Chose Rapture..." (BioShock)

Sure, most of us liberal gamer types might not necessarily agree with Andrew Ryan's vision of the perfect city - based on individuality, expedient science and pursuing your dreams without concerns for petty moral matters - but you have to admire the guy's drive in realising it... at the bottom of the ocean, no less.

Ryan in many ways embodies the American ideal of the early-mid 20th Century. Ruthless, entrepreneurial and ambitious, he let no man or government stand in his way of pursuing his goals. Obviously, things didn't turn out too well for Ryan and Rapture in the end, but the perfectly timed reveal of the city at the moment Ryan says 'Rapture' is a sublime one, completely enthralling you with its formidable Deco beauty. For just a second, you're inclined to think "I Choose Rapture" too.
