15 Most Badass Monologues In Video Game History

8."We Can't Always Fight Nature..." (Red Dead Redemption)

Red Dead Redemption is filled with brilliant snippets of no-bulls**t wisdom from gritty characters on the verge of extinction. The game takes place at a time when the Old West is just about to become 'civilised' (in the loosest possible way), and there's just no place in it for good ol' fashioned gunslingers like protagonist John Marston and his old running mate-turned-rival Dutch.

Marston remains oblivious to - or in denial of - this fact throughout the whole game, focusing solely on the safety of his kidnapped family. But what Dutch reveals in this final showdown profoundly sums up the fatal predicament John's in. No music, no fanfare, just a bleak, succinct monologue that foreshadows Marston's fate, and the pending eradication of the wild west.
