15 Most Criminally Underrated Video Game Franchises Of All Time
2. Titanfall
Where to start? Titanfall 2
Sometimes you have a gameplay setup so close to perfect, it takes a sequel to truly knock it out the park. And while the original Titanfall was still a blast, it's part two that remains hands-down the best shooter on consoles next to Overwatch.
Yes, it's that damn good. Both titles feature the ability to take part in standard person-on-person deathmatches alongside piloting your hulking mechs, and this basic duality was only capitalised on in Titanfall 2.
Now your Titans play like drivable power-ups, expanding your moveset by changing your base abilities for a limited amount of time. The campaign too, is literally a series of uber-cool set-pieces and moments the developers wrote the story around, simply because they thought it would be far more enjoyable than having a single second of your time go to waste.
Altogether it's resulted in a series that's aged with majesty, taking the immaculate physics engine from the original and bolstering it with every natural extension gameplay-wise. Titanfall 2 owns, and I implore you to check it out.
