8. Furi - The Edge

There's just been something about extremely hard games that's become a bit of a trend.

Furi is another game like that, however it melds bullet hell and beat em' up elements into a game that consists entirely of boss battles. That said, its eighth boss, The Edge, who stands out the most.

From the start, this feels like its going to be a memorable showdown between you and The Edge, as you slowly walk to the pier he's located at with building music and an overlapping monologue. The battle with The Edge is one that requires patience, and thought must go into every strike.

Parrying every move becomes important, and even more so when the battle shifts to a 2D plane and The Edge drops his sword for a boat oar (because why not). The Edge's calm and cool demeanour as he eggs the player on, grouped with the background music, makes this battle feel like a true showdown between rivals, even though they have just met.

It feels like an anime showdown and is one of the more memorable from the game.
