8. Final Fight Streetwise

Hello, Capcom, funny to see you here again!

Rebooting the iconic Final Fight, Capcom's USA development studio took on a far gritter, americanized tone, giving the world Final Fight: Streetwise.

Kyle Travers, brother to Final Fight hero Cody Travers, rules the underground arena with his retired brother. But Cody eventually falls into the words of drug peddlers, pushing him a brand new drug, Glow, that promises to fix his arthritic knees and give him the strength to let him fight again.

It also turns him into a 10-foot tall glowing demon with the word "DEATH" on his chest.

Nobody at Capcom ever realized the irony of the plot of Cody, a retired brawler, undergoing an awful transformation to fight again, as that's just what Streetwise did. A sophomoric script full of F-bombs, inept minigames and crappy "open world" arenas, with a soundtrack of licensed nu-metal and rap, dated Streetwise the moment it was released as a relic.
