15 Most Hilariously Useless Enemies In Gaming History

12. Puke Piles - Earthbound

For a game that sees players take control of nothing more than a band of gifted and imaginative kids, the density of the challenge offered up could always be a tricky thing to predict. For the most part, however, the game acquits itself well in giving players an inventive take on the traditional RPG style. With everyday objects and animals being morphed into cruel, hateful enemies by an alien force, Earthbound's roster of enemies reads from the silly to the downright vulgar - it's little wonder the game was cited as an influence for the creators of South Park and their Stick of Truth video game in 2014. Most pointlessly weak of all enemies in Earthbound though, were none other than piles of reanimated vomit that could essentially be overcome by near enough any mindless combination of attacks. Fortunately the game did allow for some face-saving appearances with two bosses taking the same form and offering up at least a touch more of a challenge, but come on - it's a pile of puke!
