15 Most Infuriating Video Game Boss Battles Of The 2000s
12. Slash/Tom Morello/Lou - Guitar Hero 3
The Guitar Hero craze is about to return in a massive way later in 2015, but whether that comes with ridiculous note charts that cake the screen in multi-coloured frets as your struggle to keep up is another story. As for the last generation of GH games, that was entirely the point, leading to - after Neversoft took over for part three - a series of boss battles against music icons Slash and Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello. Neversoft threw their own custom hellion into the mix in the form of the satanic Lou, who you'd tackle by attempting to keep up on a lightning-fast version of The Charlie Daniels Band's Devil Went Down to Georgia. These battles weren't too bad if you kept the difficulty low enough, but on Hard or Expert they turned into nightmarish finger-manglers that saw you sprout all sorts of pretzel shapes just trying to keep up. Luckily the songs themselves (featuring two custom instrumentals by Morello and Slash) were fantastic - although that just made it more annoying when you missed a note and a big ol' "CLANG" rang out through the arena.
