Whatever your stance on Jumpscares, Man-Bat scared you, no matter who you are, for that short period of time you were frightened. Scarecrow was more psychological and that sort of horror only works on so many people considering it's just a video game, whereas jumpscare work on EVERYONE, hence why they're so overused and considered a cheap tactic.
