14. Adam Jensen (Deus Ex: Human Revolution)

The other side of the coin to all this forced humour is the 'I've seen some things/I-talk-in-a-gruff-voice-because-I'm-just-that-damn-serious" archetype - one that voice actor Elias Toufexis was clearly told to emulate in the last two Deus Ex games. 2016's Mankind Divided saw Toufexis tone down the throat-gargling to a slightly less laughable degree, but Jensen as a character is barely anything more than a walking excuse to bust out as many augmented abilities as possible.

That's kinda the point, being he essentially lost his humanity when he was killed and brought back following a terrorist attack, but we rarely get insight into his mindset other than the occasional forlorn look out a window whilst smoking a cigarette.

Instead, the majority of your time controlling Jensen will be hearing Toufexis chew his way through lines of dialogue in a way that makes for many a hilarious impression, but ultimately never lands how they're supposed to.
