15 Resurrected Video Game Franchises That Should Stay Dead
6. Prince Of Persia
The Originals: The legendary platformer series began in 1989 and saw a trilogy of titles released before the franchise first went dormant. It returned with the revolutionary 2003 reboot The Sands of Time, which spawned two immediate sequels, before the series was again rebooted with 2008's cel-shaded effort (pictured above). To make matters more confusing, Ubisoft then decided to return to the Sands of Time series, delivering 2010's The Forgotten Sands as a relatively well-received inter-quel. The Resurrection: All subsequent follow-ups were ultimately put on hold, though Ubisoft have since confirmed that they are planning to bring the series back again soon, likely as yet another reboot. Why It Needs To Stay Dead: Sure, the games are fun and all, but aren't they just a little too samey to the likes of Assassin's Creed these days? The time travel mechanic is still awesome, but short of some more revolutionary mechanics being introduced in the next game, it just feels like that's all she wrote.
