5. SSX
The Originals: 2000's SSX is one of the best-reviewed sports games of the 2000s, a terrific snowboarding title which smoked all of its competition (sorry, Cool Boarders) and led to four acclaimed sequels, culminating in 2007's Wii-exclusive SSX Blur. The Resurrection: SSX was rebooted in 2012, simply titled as SSX, again to positive reviews, with many commenting on the refreshing feeling after the series spent 5 years out in the wilderness. However, sales couldn't measure up to the earlier games, and there's not been any word on a follow-up so far. Why It Needs To Stay Dead: Another SSX game is a bad idea for one reason: snowboarding is always going to be popular with the hardcores, but it was something of a fad which came and went with more casual players in the early-to-mid-2000s, hence why sales began to taper off after the release of SSX3. If another SSX game happened, it'd likely end up like THPS5, under-budgeted, over-priced and unable to succeed in the current gaming market. A much more cost-effective way to test the waters would be to just re-release the original three games in HD.
