15 Resurrected Video Game Franchises That Should Stay Dead
8. Medal Of Honor
The Originals: Starting in 1999, the Medal of Honor series quickly established itself as one of the best console FPS franchises, and its leap to the PC with 2002's Allied Assault resulted in one of the most critically acclaimed shooters of the naughties. The Resurrection: Though EA attempted to introduce diversity in games such as 2007's Airborne (which took the perspective of a paratrooper), the series was well and truly rebooted with 2010's Medal of Honor, which was nevertheless criticised for its underwhelming campaign and lackluster multiplayer offering, even if the reviews were hardly disastrous and it sold pretty well. The final game in the series to date, 2012's Warfighter, flopped with critics and gamers, causing the series to be put "on hold" ahead of the inevitable second reboot. Why It Needs To Stay Dead: There's just not really a place for MoH in the FPS landscape anymore: between CoD and Battlefield, it's pretty well covered, and MoH hasn't really created a diverse enough experience to suggest it's filling any particular gap in the market that these two are not. It was brought back to life once, but please, not again.
