15 Severely Underrated PS3 Games That Deserve A Second Chance

3. The Last Guy

Guiding large groups of people to safety in a city that's been overrun with zombies. Sound interesting? Ok, now imagine that you're doing this from a birds-eye view on a map that looks like Google Maps. Suddenly, you're having second thoughts about whether this is something you'd want to play, right? But the visuals really aren't as bad as they look in the above photo; embrace them and you'll discover a game that's the true spiritual successor to 90s classic Lemmings. The Last Guy (that's you) is essentially a game of crowd control in an apocalyptic scenario. It's your job to run at high speed around the city, tracking down survivors using thermal vision, then weaving them through the monster-filled streets of world cities to designated escape zones. Of course, you get to wear a red cape in the game - an essential piece of apparel without which no true superhero fantasy would be complete. Your large-scale heroic exploits are accompanied by a catchy soundtrack that speeds up as the game picks up in intensity - which it does in a very big way. Early levels are challenging enough, but when you get stuck on the London level, you'll be screaming at the capital's long-dead city planners, asking why the hell they didn't consider what a nightmare it'd be to evacuate people from the city in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
