15 Severely Underrated Xbox 360 Games That Deserve A Second Chance

1. Enslaved: Odyssey To The West

Could there be a title more underrated than Enslaved? I think not. Developer Ninja Theory's superb retelling of the 16th century Chinese novel 'Journey To The West' is marvellous on every single level, but seems to have attained first place on the podium of forgotten Xbox titles. At its core Enslaved is a tale about Trip and Monkey (played by a brilliant Andy Serkis), with the latter being coerced by the former to protect her as she navigates through the post-apocalyptic remnants of the Earth. If there's anything important to note here it's how visually striking the game looks - taking the usual post-apocalyptic aesthetic and turning it on its head completely - instead showing a world that nature has tried to reclaim in the midst of a manmade disaster. Sound familiar, Horizon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgIdQz5ue8g Despite a mostly positive critical reaction Enslaved under-performed massively upon its initial release, with the gamers of 2010 electing to forgo the title in favour of other, better publicised projects. Enslaved's story is beautifully crafted, as is its gameplay. Third person hack n'slash combat is turned into something intricate and intelligent, as Monkey has to contend with vicious robotic drones in order to protect Trip safely. All this and more makes Enslaved a journey you'll definitely want to partake in - you'll only regret you hadn't tried it sooner. Are there any other 360 titles you think deserve a shot at redemption, or did the critics get it right first time around? Let us know in the comments below!
