15 Simple Things That Could Ruin 2018's Biggest Video Games

3. It's Just A Deluxe Port Of Smash Bros. For Wii U - Super Smash Bros. Switch

Nintendo finally put fans out of their misery in their recent Nintendo Direct livestream by confirming that a new Super Smash Bros. game is on the way for the Switch, and...not much else.

It's clear from the CGI trailer that Splatoon's Inklings will be included in the roster, but apart from that, we know virtually nothing about the game, nor whether it's an entirely new Smash or merely a "deluxe port" of the 2014 Wii U game.

Considering that the Wii U Smash Bros. scored the series' worst sales to date - largely due to the Wii U's failure rather than the game's quality - it probably makes more financial sense to re-release it on the Switch with some fancy new bells and whistles.

That would be a shame, though. It's been four years since the last Smash, and wouldn't it be great to see a totally new game designed from the ground-up with the Switch in mind? We don't just want new characters and maps, but a whole new title that takes full advantage of everything Nintendo's new hit platform has to offer.

Basically, prepare yourself for a deluxe port, and maybe, just maybe, you'll be pleasantly suprised.
