15 Things Only Fallout Fans Will Understand

5. "Can't Fast-Travel, Enemies Are Nearby", *Moves Slightly To The Left*, "Can Fast-Travel"

As of Fallout 3, fast-travelling has become super finicky in that signature 'Bethesda jank' kinda way. See, unlike the older games where you'd exit out the confines of the map and be prompted with a travel pop-up, Witcher 3-style, Fallout 3, NV and 4 are based on horizontal proximity to enemies, regardless of if they're engaging you, or even peering down from a rooftop. This leads to scenarios where you'll attempt to get the hell outta Dodge, get the "Can't do that" message, amble just ever so slightly away from whatever the red dot on your map is (if there even is one), hit the button again and have it work instantly. Oh Bethesda, you so crazy.
