No, not a terminal password for the main story or a key to some unforeseen locked box further down the way, oh no. Instead, you need forks. A big ol' handful of forks. See, they've got a component you need to build a massive power-giving fan at the heart of your settlement. In the past games junk was just something that cluttered up your inventory and could occasionally be sold off, but in Fallout 4 specifically, its base parts can be funnelled back into everything from gun and armour mods, to houses and defensive equipment. So next time hang onto that tea kettle, and grab another just to be sure... because you never know.
