15 Things Only Video Game Completionists Will Understand

11. Side-Quests Will Completely Derail You

"What if I don't do them, and then I can't do them later?!" I'll scream internally. It's just impossible to go on with a game while there are things left to do on the side. Side quests are great, they give you items you'd never get in the main thread, and should also help unlock abilities - almost always being required for that precious 100%. When faced with progressing the story or doing those 14 fetch-quests I have in my queue, priority goes to the latter. The thing is, those side objectives will end up making me avoid the main story as much as possible. Games like Fallout 4 and Dying Light come to mind. My son can wait, I need to find this random girl her teddy bear. Finding a cure for the zombie outbreak can wait, this guy needs some coffee, dammit! Dying Light even had an achievement for completing every side quest, so it was inevitable, as does Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Do you see how crazy this starts to get?!
