15 Things We Learned From Sony's Paris Games Week Livestream

1. The Last Of Us Part II Looks Beautiful & Brutal

Sony's conference concluded with an unforgettable five-minute cinematic look at The Last of Us Part II, in which a woman is nearly hanged and disembowelled before one of her apparent allies is also discovered in the area.

The leader of the savage group tells her henchmen to "Clip her wings", resulting in a wince-inducing sequence where the second woman has one of her arms broken with a hammer.

With the trusty use of a bow and arrow and that aforementioned hammer, the kidnapped women manage to escape and rendezvous with another ally, moments before some Clickers emerge out of the dense, dark forest and the trailer cuts to black.

There's little in the way of context for this sequence, nor any sign of Joel or Ellie, but it's clear from the jaw-droppingly impressive facial animations and oppressively bleak atmosphere that this game's going to be something special indeed, and possibly too much for some to stomach.
