7. Ratchet & Clank Reboot

A video game released as a tie-in to a movie is never a particularly great sell, though when it comes to Rachet and Clank, an exception can be made. Conceived as a reboot of the platforming franchise designed to fall in line with the upcoming animated movie, this isn't really what the series needs, though given the franchise's impeccable track record to date, there's no reason to doubt that this won't be another irreverent classic in the genre. Though gamers have yet to see how the delightful duo will look on the PS4 (the first footage is due any day now), it's safe to say that Insomniac should deliver a visually stunning reimagining of one of gaming's greatest platform titles. Keen to distinguish itself from merely being an "HD remake" of the original classic, hopefully the new Ratchet and Clank will take full advantage of how gaming has evolved over the last decade-and-a-bit.
