And yet, no game for the Wii U is nearly as anticipated as The Legend of Zelda, the latest entry into the series that takes it into the open-world arena, whereby Nintendo aims to give the player more freedom than ever before. Moving away from the more linear gameplay of previous titles, the new Zelda will allow players to decide (to an extent) where to go and how to get there themselves. The switch to open-world feels like a natural progression for the series, and might help open the franchise up to gamers who have perhaps been apprehensive about it to date. Though little information is known about the game and the only footage that's been shown off is that awesome E3 teaser, it's just a comfort to know that the game is in active development, and should hopefully be with players in around a year's time. If Nintendo pull off an open-world Zelda, expect it to instantly become the must-have Wii U game above all others.
