A major coup for the Wii U is scoring exclusive rights to Bayonetta 2, the sequel to the 2009 action game which was originally only released on Xbox 360 and PS3 (but comes packaged with the second game). Taking an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to gameplay, Bayonetta 2 appears to be more of the same, a frantic, intense shoot 'em up in which reaction times are key, while presenting the same irreverent tone as the original, by way of its sexy titular protagonist (whose curvaceousness doesn't appear to have been toned down despite Nintendo's family-friendly image). Even though it's not due for release for almost two weeks, reviews have begun to appear online this week, holding a strong 91 on Metacritic, with reviews citing the game's improvement in terms of pacing, customisation and set-pieces over the original. If this score holds, it instantly makes the game one of the best-reviewed titles on the Wii U, and given how the console is clearly crying out for a great action outing, this looks like just the ticket.
