Who would have thought that the weird guy who floats around on a balloon and sells you maps would star in not only one but a full series of games.

The reason the Tingle series isn't widely known is that other than this game, none of them were released outside of Japan, and even this one was only released in Japan and Europe.

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland follows a middle aged man who gets transformed into Tingle by Uncle Rupee. Tingle must travel the world gathering rupees to get to the totally not made up Rupeeland. The game might be weird but it's actually not too bad.

The game has a pretty good sense of humour and a few interesting systems. Most of the time when you want to buy something you have to decide how much rupees you're willing to spend on an item. Put forward too many rupees and you've wasted your money, put forward too little and the shopkeeper might get angry, take your rupees, and give you nothing. It’s a good risk reward system.

This is about as good as a Tingle game could be and is worth a play if you can find a copy.
