8. Sally Ride - Mass Effect 4: Andromeda

Although it's not out until late 2016 at the earliest, Bioware dropped an awesome little teaser trailer on N7 Day (November 7th) revealing who our next main character is going to be. See, the original trilogy's Commander Shepard was named after the first American man in space, Alan Shepard, and if you look to the left-hand side of the shot above, you'll notice a dogtag with 'Rider/Ryder' (it's hard to see with the quality of the clip) engraved on top. Sally Ride was the first American female in space, so chances are it's 'Rider' that's on that tag, and even if this doesn't turn out to be our new protagonist, it's a really neat wink to one of the most famous women of all time.
